Kolkata: A shocking discovery at Santragachi railway station on Tuesday afternoon has left passengers and railway authorities in a state of shock. The lifeless body of a man, believed to be around 35 years old, was found hanging inside the toilet of the Mumbai Mail train, triggering a wave of concern and speculation.
According to railway sources, the Mumbai Mail had just completed its journey to Howrah station and was subsequently moved to the Santragachi rail yard for routine cleaning and maintenance. It was during this process that sanitation workers made the grim discovery.
“We were cleaning the sleeper coach when we suddenly noticed a person hanging inside the toilet. It was an unexpected and horrifying sight. We immediately alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP),” said one of the railway workers present at the scene.
