The 69-year-old singer, known for his melodious voice and evergreen hits, is facing widespread criticism after an incident involving a female fan on stage.

During the live concert, Udit Narayan was performing the iconic song Tip Tip Barsa Pani when several female fans gathered near the stage, eager to take selfies with him. As he interacted with them, one woman hugged him, and he kissed her on the cheek. Encouraged by the interaction, more fans rushed forward to take pictures with the singer. However, in a surprising turn of events, he was caught on video kissing a female fan on the lips before sitting down.
The video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among netizens. Many expressed disappointment, with some labeling the act as “inappropriate” and “shocking.” Social media platforms were flooded with reactions, with comments such as “What rudeness!” and “He is too old for this kind of behavior!”
Udit Narayan Responds to the Backlash
Addressing the controversy, Udit Narayan dismissed the criticism, claiming that his actions were misinterpreted. In his defense, he stated, “Fans go crazy. I’m not like that at all. We are gentlemen. Some people get excited and show love. What’s the point of making a big issue out of this?”
He further elaborated, “There are thousands of people in the crowd, and we have bodyguards. But fans think they are getting a chance to meet their favorite singer, so they extend their hands for a handshake, some kiss hands… it happens. I don’t see anything unusual about this.”
