The wait is finally over for devotees as the auspicious date for the opening of the revered Badrinath Temple has been announced. The doors of the holy shrine will open for worshipers at 6:00 AM on May 4th, marking the commencement of the annual Chardham Yatra.
The journey will be preceded by the traditional Gaddu Ghera Oil Pot Yatra, commencing on April 22nd from the Raj Darbar. This ancient ritual involves the preparation of sesame oil by local married women under the guidance of Maharani Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah. The holy oil will then be carried by the people of Dimmar Panchayat to the temple, signifying the beginning of the pilgrimage season.
The Chardham Yatra, a significant pilgrimage for Hindus, draws millions of devotees from across the country to visit the sacred sites of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.
