New Delhi: After nearly a decade of meticulous planning and construction, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to inaugurate its ultra-modern headquarters in Delhi on February 19, coinciding with Shivaji Jayanti. The new office, located on a sprawling 3.75-hectare plot, marks a significant transition from its temporary rented space back to its historic site.

A Towering Symbol of Progress

The newly constructed headquarters features three towering 13-storey buildings, named Sadhna, Prerna, and Archana. These structures house 300 rooms and offices, embodying a perfect synergy between contemporary technology and India’s rich cultural heritage. The centerpiece of this architectural marvel is the grand auditorium, named after the late Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal, with a seating capacity exceeding 450 people. Additionally, a second auditorium, designed for larger gatherings, can accommodate up to 1,000 attendees.

Where Tradition Meets Modernity

The design philosophy of the RSS headquarters is deeply rooted in simplicity and sustainability. Inspired by traditional Gujarati and Rajasthani art forms, the interiors reflect India’s diverse artistic traditions while embracing cutting-edge advancements. The headquarters is equipped with a solar power plant, a water harvesting system, a health center, and a sewage treatment facility, ensuring self-sufficiency in energy and environmental conservation.

Security remains a paramount concern, and the structure has been built with reinforced safety measures. To minimize environmental impact, the frames of the doors and windows have been crafted from granite instead of wood, with nearly 1,000 such eco-friendly installations throughout the premises.

A Knowledge Hub in the Heart of the Capital

One of the highlights of the new headquarters is its expansive library, located on the eighth floor. With a collection exceeding 8,000 books, the library offers a treasure trove of knowledge, encompassing India’s Constitution and literature from various religious traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Islam.

A Historic Homecoming

The RSS has operated from this location since 1962. However, due to the large-scale reconstruction efforts, it had shifted to a rented space in 2016. Now, after eight years of development, delayed partially due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sangh is poised to return to its roots in a modernized setting.

The grand inauguration of the Keshav Kunj office will be led by RSS chief Mohanrao Bhagwat and General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale. As the Sangh embarks on a new chapter in its history, this state-of-the-art headquarters stands as a testament to its evolving vision—one that seamlessly intertwines tradition with modernity while prioritizing sustainability and efficiency.
