Navdeep Singh Inaugurates 6th Edition of Ekal Run Organized by FTS Yuva

Kolkata: The bustling city of Kolkata came alive today as over 5,000 participants gathered for the much-anticipated 6th edition of the Ekal Run, hosted by FTS Yuva, the youth arm of Friends of Tribals Society. Held at the scenic Godrej Waterside, the event featured runs across four categories: 21km, 10km, 5km timed races, and a 3km fun run, encouraging participation from all age groups.

The event was inaugurated by Paralympic champion Navdeep Singh, whose inspiring presence set the tone for the day. The run also saw the attendance of prominent personalities like actor Rahul Dev Bose, fitness expert Sriya Manihar, and healthcare strategist Richa Singh Debgupta, alongside corporate leaders, influencers, and athletes.

According to FTS Yuva Kolkata Chapter President Gaurav Bagla,
This year’s Ekal Run was a remarkable success, showcasing the city’s passion for both fitness and philanthropy. It is truly humbling to see thousands join hands for a cause as vital as educating tribal children. We are honored to have Navdeep Singh inaugurate the event, symbolizing determination and resilience. The proceeds will help transform lives through Ekal Vidyalayas, making a real difference in rural India.”

The funds raised will go towards FTS’s mission of empowering tribal communities through education. The organization runs over 49,000 Ekal Vidyalayas, offering basic education to more than 1.5 million children in India’s most remote regions.

The event drew an impressive lineup of dignitaries, including Vineet Kansal, General Manager at RP Sanjiv Goenka Group; Nilotpal Kumar Pandey, DIG of BSF South Bengal Frontier; and actress Debadrita Basu, among others. Senior members of FTS, such as Sri Sajan Bansal and Sri Ramesh Saraogi, also extended their support, highlighting the collective effort driving the cause.

FTS Yuva’s organizing team led by Niraj Harodia, Rishabh Saraogi, and Raunak Fatesaria ensured seamless execution, with support from an enthusiastic network of volunteers and sponsors.
