Mumbai: Bhajan Singh Rana, a humble auto driver, has become a household name after his heroic act of saving Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan’s life. The incident, which unfolded early Thursday morning, has not only made him a star but also earned him accolades and rewards from various quarters, with the latest being a generous offer from popular singer Mika Singh.
Bhajan’s story began in the wee hours of January 16 when he spotted a severely injured man near Bandra. Without a second thought, Bhajan rushed the man to Lilavati Hospital in under two minutes. Little did he know, the man in his auto was none other than Saif Ali Khan.
Recounting the incident, Bhajan shared, “I didn’t think about anything else except getting him to the hospital as quickly as possible. His life was my priority at that moment.” In his rush to save Saif, Bhajan didn’t even bother to ask for the fare.
The Bollywood actor, who was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, later met Bhajan to personally thank him. Saif expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “You saved my life by taking me to the hospital on time. I’ll always be appreciative.” As a thank you present, he also gave Bhajan ₹50,000.
Bhajan’s selflessness has since attracted admiration from all corners. A voluntary organization also recognized his bravery, awarding him ₹11,000. However, the biggest surprise came from singer Mika Singh, who announced his intention to reward Bhajan with ₹11 lakh.
Taking to social media, Mika praised Bhajan, calling him a “true hero” and wrote, “This man deserves more than just ₹50,000. Saif bhai, let’s make it ₹11 lakh!” Mika’s post, accompanied by a photo of Bhajan, has garnered widespread attention, with fans lauding Mika for his generosity.
