In a significant announcement, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the parent organization of Amul, has declared a reduction in milk prices, bringing much-needed relief to consumers across the country.

Joyne Mehta, an official from GCMMF, revealed on Friday that the prices of Amul’s popular milk variants—Amul Taza, Amul Gold, and Amul Tea Special—have been reduced by ₹1 per liter. Additionally, the prices for half-liter packs will see a reduction of 50 paise.

This price cut marks a refreshing change amidst the soaring milk prices that have burdened households in recent months. According to the revised pricing, a liter of Amul Tea Special, which previously cost ₹62, will now be available for ₹61. Similarly, the price of Amul Gold has been reduced from ₹66 to ₹65, and Amul Taza will now cost ₹53 instead of ₹54.

However, while the announcement has created excitement among consumers, one critical question remains unanswered:

When will these new prices be implemented?

GCMMF has yet to confirm the date when these revised rates will be applicable, leaving customers eagerly waiting for clarity.

The price cut is expected to provide relief to families and individuals already coping with inflationary pressures. Amul’s decision also sets an important precedent for other dairy brands, potentially encouraging a broader reduction in milk prices across the industry.

For now, consumers are keeping an eye out for updates from Amul regarding the implementation date. Stay tuned for more developments on this story!
