West Bengal residents called for a ban on Muslim tourists from Bangladesh. The recent outrage against Hindus was attacked by the ABHM (Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha).

The state president of the organization, Chandrachur Goswami, appealed to Indians to deny services and accommodations to Bangladeshi citizens until Bangladesh seeks an apology for the alleged desecration of the Indian flag.

Goswami said to the reporters that they appeal to all to refrain from renting rooms, providing hotel accommodations, and selling goods to Bangladeshi Muslims visiting India for medical treatment purposes or any other reasons. This stand will continue until Bangladesh apologizes for insulting the Indian national flag.

“We are not saying that all Muslim residents from Bangladesh are bad or terrorists. However, we cannot ignore that the heinous acts of genocide and the desecration of the Indian flag are fueled by Islamic fundamentalists,” he quoted.

Goswami further reminded Bangladesh of its historical owings to India and said that the existence of independent Bangladesh on the world map is due to the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers. The circling red in the Bangladeshi national flag symbolizes the blood of Indian soldiers. He also advised that Bangladeshi residents must return home and confront their extremist elements to protect the image of Islam and uphold humanity.

The Hindu people in Bangladesh, who are the largest minority in the country, are at a critical juncture caused by political upheaval and violence. The crisis began after the former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5, followed by student movement and unrest. The turmoil has left the country’s minorities in a precarious position.

The spokesperson of Bangladesh, Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport en route to Chattogram to attend a rally.

In recent decades, Hindu residents in Bangladesh have experienced a significant decline, with the minority community now comprising only around 8% of the total population which was around 22% during the 1971 Liberation War.
