Kolkata – The Tangra neighborhood is reeling under the shock of a chilling and perplexing case as investigators unravel a complex web of clues surrounding three mysterious deaths inside a house on Atul Shur Road. Suicide, murder, or something more sinister? As each layer is peeled back, the enigma only deepens.
The Grim Discovery
On the third floor of the house, police found three lifeless bodies in separate rooms, sending shockwaves through the community. The deceased have been identified as Sudeshna De, the elder wife of Prasun De; Romi De, the younger wife of Pranoy De; and their minor daughter, Priyambada De.
The conditions of the bodies have only added to the mystery. While Priyambada’s body bore no visible wounds, only saliva was seen coming from her mouth, suggesting possible poisoning. However, injury marks on Romi De’s neck and hands indicate a violent struggle. Similarly, Sudeshna De’s hands also bore injury marks. Bloodstains were scattered across multiple floors, and a paper-cutting knife was recovered from the scene.
Forensic Clues and the 3D Mapper Investigation
Authorities have deployed a 3D mapper to meticulously reconstruct the sequence of events and collect crucial evidence. Investigators are focusing on blood samples and other forensic clues to piece together what truly transpired inside the house. Adding to the mystery, several crystal and sandalwood wristbands were found scattered inside a car at the scene.
The car itself appears to have met with a severe accident, further complicating the investigation. It was crushed from the front, both airbags had deployed, and blood stains covered the seats. The front seat was even broken, suggesting a violent impact.
A Financial Angle? The Rs 23 Lakh Cheque Mystery
While the forensic and circumstantial evidence raises questions about foul play, a shocking financial link has emerged. Manoj Kumar Gupta, a known acquaintance of the family and a leather supplier, made a startling revelation. He stated that a cheque of Rs 23 lakh issued by the family had bounced. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, his calls went unanswered. When he arrived at the house the previous day, he found the house eerily silent, with no lights turned on and no response from within.
CCTV Blackout Raises Alarms
Perhaps the most ominous sign of all is the fact that the CCTV system was switched off before the incident. Could this have been a premeditated act? Was someone inside aware that something sinister was about to unfold? Investigators are working tirelessly to determine whether this was a coincidence or an intentional move to erase crucial evidence.
The Road Ahead for Investigators
With so many unanswered questions, the case has taken on a labyrinthine complexity. The injuries, the scattered bloodstains, the financial angle, and the suspicious circumstances all point to a deeper mystery. Was this a suicide pact? A planned murder? Or an accident that led to something more horrifying?
As investigators dig deeper into the Tangra case, Kolkata waits anxiously for answers. One thing is certain – the truth behind the three deaths will shake the city to its core.
