Three Arrested, Stolen Bike Recovered
Kolkata, India: In a swift operation, the Kolkata Police have successfully apprehended three individuals involved in a daring snatching incident near Quest Mall. The accused had allegedly snatched a bag containing Rs 10.5 lakh from an unsuspecting victim.
During a press conference held at Karaya Police Station, DCP Bhola Nath Pandey disclosed the details of the operation. According to him, a special team was formed immediately after the complaint was filed. The team’s efforts led to the arrest of the primary suspect, Shamim, from Rajarhat. Subsequent interrogation of Shamim resulted in the apprehension of two more accomplices.
Along with the arrests, the police have also recovered the stolen amount of Rs 10.5 lakh and the bike used to commit the crime. The DCP further added that the police are currently investigating to ascertain if any more individuals were involved in this heinous act.
The incident, which took place near Gate Number 5 of Quest Mall, had sent shockwaves through the city. The swift action by the Kolkata Police has not only led to the recovery of the stolen money but has also restored public faith in the law enforcement agency.
